Been feeling peckish...... Looked in the fridge for the remains of xmas goodies. Found un-open dates and left over brandy cream. Tried them together and YUM YUM YUM..
So what weird ,exciting and tasty combos have you come across...???

Dates and brandy cream? *hic* sounds interesting Piglet.
Desperately trying to get rid of some of the accumulated stuff in this household, so that we can return to normality - I am sure there will be a few stories to tell. The only weirdness that I was not associated with last night was watching my family eat fresh ready-chopped mangos chunks smothered in Condensed Milk... *shudder*

Believe it or not, Bovril and apricot jam on toast is actually very nice!! My hubby used to eat it at boarding school, and for years I gagged at the thought of it until he dared me to try it. And it goes quite well together!!! Who would have thought??

Christmas Cake (fruit cake) with a slice of cheese (I prefer stinky slimy Stilton) delicious.
PS: I purchased the stilton well before Xmas so it could ferment and ripen - stinks out the fridge, but hey - I don't mind.

I was introduced to the christmas cake and slice of cheese this christmas, it wasn't stilton tho. Not something I would have thought of.

My head is well and truly planted between my knees now. eekw
PS Avo my dear, being one of my favourite froots of the edible kind (never tried the sugar thing though... not sure I am rushing to try it either) I think you should be honoured to be so popular, lucky lady!
PPS or is it PSS: Amarula goes with lots of other stuff too!
