I don't get copies of Cathy's weekly letters Canuck, but I know my own parents are struggling in Zim at the moment. I often get half messages through on skype followed with apologies the next day, because the power went off in mid sentence. I know that they spend a lot of time cooking on gas and sitting around the wood fire in the lounge.
Must admit, it sounds like it is a particularly cold winter this time around in the southern hemisphere.
